Associate Professor

Dr. Chujin Ruan is an Associate Professor in the College of Ocean and Earth Sciences at Xiamen University, specializing in microbial ecology. His research team works in close collaboration with the marine antimicrobial peptide research group led by Professor Kejian Wang, jointly advancing key topics related to pathogen control and microbial ecological mechanisms in marine and aquaculture environments.
Group works in close collaboration with the marine antimicrobial peptide research group led by Professor Kejian Wang, jointly advancing research on pathogen control and microbial ecological mechanisms in marine and aquaculture environments. The collaboration aims to develop an integrated antimicrobial peptide–phage control system, elucidate its synergistic mechanisms and ecological effects, and explore ecologically grounded application models within aquaculture systems. This research aligns with major national initiatives such as “Healthy China” and “Blue Granary,” and holds significant importance for suppressing pathogenic bacteria, reducing antibiotic use, curbing the spread of antimicrobial resistance, and improving aquatic environmental ecosystems.
